11 Months Old

Abigail is now 11 months old. She is such a busy baby. Now that she is walking, she is into everything. Her favorite destination is her sister's bedroom. She has decided that (with her eight teeth) she no longer wants baby food. And, I'm pretty sure that her first molars will be coming in soon. She can say "Mama" and "Dada" now and it's so cute. She likes to copy sounds that we make and is pretty good at it. Here is a slideshow of her from the last month.

My birthday "party"

My birthday is tomorrow. Wee Kids Praise at church meets on Wednesday nights. We had our music/Bible lesson as usual tonight, but Jeremy had a "party" for me during snack time. He made brownies for all the kids, brought me balloons and a "Happy Birthday" tiara and even had a stick the nose on the clown game for the kids. It was really sweet and the kids (including Rachel) had fun!

A quick trip to visit family

We went to Arkansas this weekend since we knew that it would be the last available weekend to travel for a while. We left Friday afternoon for White Hall. We spent the evening at my Mom's. Abigail did not like being in a "strange" place overnight. None of us got much rest. On Saturday morning, we packed up and drove to Monticello to visit Jeremy's grandparents and great-grandmother. After lunch, we drove back to White Hall to visit at my Dad's before heading home. It was a very quick trip, but at least we got to visit everyone that we had intended to see while we were there.

Wee Kids Praise

I direct the preschool choir at church. I teach Rachel and the other four and five year olds. (They were all four years old when we began in August.) There is another teacher that takes care of the three and four year olds. Both classes are combined in the videos below. These are video clips from the second time that they sang in church. (On Sunday nights and Wednesday nights, we meet in the fellowship hall.)

Valentine's Day

We had a low key Valentine's Day at home. We spent the evening watching Madagascar 2 as a family. Rachel had received it as part of her gift. The girls opened their gifts yesterday morning. Rachel got the DVD and some Littlest Pet Shop animals and one of those obnoxiously huge heart shaped balloons (because Jeremy wanted her to have it.) Abigail got a bath toy and a cute casual outfit.

She's walking!

Abigail is officially walking. She has been taking a couple of steps without holding onto anything or anybody for several weeks now. Today, she walked about six or seven steps across the room to me. Rachel is so excited that she can walk.

Here is a picture that I took of her walking this evening.

Valentines exchange playdate

I took the girls to a valentine exchange playdate today. My stay at home mom's group hosted it at Rachel's school. The kids got to play in the indoor playground. Later, we had snacks and the kids exchanged Valentines. The girls had a lot of fun playing.

Rachel's ice cream party

Rachel's class enjoyed an ice cream sundae party as a part of their Valentine's celebration. Abigail and I went up to the school so that I could help out when the icecream was served. The kids in Rachel's class really had a good time piling on all the toppings that were available. A few of the girls began to put dress up items on Abigail after they finished their icecream and they all thought that she was pretty funny.

Here is a picture of Rachel enjoying her ice cream.

And, here are some pics of Abigail wearing dressup stuff.

Celebrating a birthday with a friend

Today, we were able to celebrate Mikey's birthday at the Target House in Memphis. Mikey, a friend that works with Jeremy, is living at the Target House while he receives treatment for a brain tumor. It has been a struggle so far, but he has won the battle with cancer once before and has beaten the odds so far. Please remember to keep our friend, Mikey, in your prayers.

Here is a picture of Mikey, Jeremy and Abigail (taken by Rachel.)

Another ear infection...

It hasn't been a long time since Abigail finished her antibiotics for the last ear infection, but she now has another one. I took her to the doctor today and he put her on 20 days of antibiotics (instead of the normal 10 day prescription.) I hope that the antibiotics will work this time because I am tired of my baby being sick.
